Rituals

1. Morning – Devotees take a bath, observe fast, and pray to Lord Ganesha.
2. Daytime – The fast continues (many observe without food or only fruits/milk).
3. Evening/Night –
   • A special Ganesh Puja is performed with Durva grass, flowers, modaks, and lamps.
   • Moonrise darshan is important: devotees see the moon, offer arghya (water) and break the fast.
   • The Sankashti story (vrat katha) for that month’s Ganesha form is read.
4. Food – After puja, devotees eat prasad and simple meal.
